Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle

If there is any motto for the aspiring physical fitness fan, it should be “Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle”. The key is always to get diet right. You simply have to eat enough calories to maintain and grow your muscle mass. You also have to be sure not to consume so many calories that you increase your fat mass.

Most people fail the burn fat, build muscle test. The average exerciser who works out an hour a day for four months, one American study found, gains one pound. The average person who stays on Weight Watchers for a year also gains one pound. Hundreds of hours in the gyms or hundreds of skimpy meals won’t do the trick unless you know the basic equation that enables you to burn fat build muscle. And here it is in two straight-forward, although not necessarily easy, steps:

1. Calculate your calories.
To do this you need to know your target weight and how many hours your exercise each week. If you don’t exercise at all, multiply your target weight by 10, and that’s the number of calories you should consume each day. If you exercise, then add 1 to the multiplier for each hour your work out each week.

For instance, if you work one hour a week, and you want to weigh 175 pounds, multiply 175 by 11 and you get 1,925 calories a day to reach your goal weight. If you work out two hours a week and you want to weigh 175 pounds, multiply 175 by 12 and get 2,100 calories a day to reach your goal weight.

2. Distribute your calories.
Now you’ll figure out the right ratio of protein, fat, and carbohydrate in your diet. You need protein to maintain and build muscle. You need healthy fat to make hormones, including the hormones that your fat cells send to your brain to tell it that you don’t need to eat more. And you need carbohydrates for energy, both resting energy (breathing, digesting food, and so on) and the energy you use in exercise.

Anything else is carbohydrate. So how does this work out? If you are aiming to burn the fat feed the muscle as you get down to 175 pounds, you need 175 grams, or about 6-1/2 oz of protein every day. Hi i am 16 years old almost 17, and have been lifting for 3 years. In these 3 years, i have gained alot of muscle, but i want even bigger and stronger muscles. I currently take muscle milk, but wonder if there is anything better. Also consider that i am am 6 ft 2 so i am stretched out lol.

Ingredients:

250g Lean Low Fat Beef Mince

3 Tablespoons of Tomato Puree

3 Large Stalks Celery

1 Large Bay Leaf

6 Large Tomatoes

1 Clove of Garlic

500g Carrots

125g Barley

A Handful of Fresh Parsley

A Large Dash of Pepper

1 Teaspoon of Thyme

How To Cook:

Chop the Vegetables. Brown off the Beef mince in a large size pan. Add the Tomato’s, Bay Leaf, the Tomato Puree, Thyme, Pepper and 4 cups of Water.

Bring the whole thing to the boil, cover it, then let it simmer for an hour.

After that, add the Celery and the Carrots (chopped of course) Then, finally add the Barley.

Re-cover it all and then let it simmer for another hour. This time you will stir periodically. Then its time to remove the Bay Leaf and stir in the Parsley just before serving.

 

‘Totally Turbo Boosted’ Turkey Soup

Ingredients:

250g Deli Turkey (high grade with no skin or fat)

500g Fresh Asparagus

1 Cup Barley

2 Large Potatoes

1 Large Onion

3 Cups Low Fat Milk

2 Tablespoons of Sunflower Spread

1 Tablespoon of Wholewheat Flour

½ Tablespoon of Black Pepper

100g Lowest Fat Cheddar Cheese

1 Teaspoon Dijon Mustard

How To Cook:

Chop the Turkey up into small pieces. Grate the Cheddar Cheese then chop the Onion and peel the Potatoes. Chop them then add everything so far together into a large pot. Add the Sunflower Spread the Barley the Mustard the Flour the Milk and the Asparagus. Stir it all vigourously then bring it to the boil. Finally turn it down to let simmer for 30 mins before serving.

 

‘Mad Max Muscle Booster’ Curried Tuna Soup

Ingredients:

1 Can of Tuna

3 Tablespoons of Wholewheat Flour

2 Tablespoons of Barley

½ Min Fat Sour Cream

3 Cups of Chicken Broth

½ Teaspoon of Chopped Lemon Peel

1 Large size Apple

1 Large size Onion

Large knob of Low Fat Margarine

¼ Cup of Brown Rice

2 Teaspoons of Curry Powder

How to Cook:

Core the Apple. Chop it up then add that and the Onion (also chopped) and the Curry Powder into a large pan and cook until the Onion is soft.

Add the Chicken Broth and bring everything to the boil. Then its time to stir in the Barley and the Rice. Cover everything and simmer it all for 15-20 minutes. Drain off the Tuna fish, and then add the Wholewheat Flour, the Sour Cream and the Tuna to the Pan. Lastly, add the Lemon peel and stir everything together until its all fully mixed. Re-cover and then simmer for another 5-7 minutes before serving.

Thus what you are doing is inducing a fat burning cycle, not by cutting out one component of your diet like carbs, but by just engaging in bouts of nutritional deprivation in short microbursts, just long enough to induce fat burning, but not long enough to truly deprive you of the crucial nutrients that you need to sustain a balanced diet.
